Visit Our Tea Room

In 2001, the Rudolph family purchased the property to renovate it and bring the first B&B lodging to the heart of Doylestown, PA.  The Inn, was renovated in 2002 to include seven guest suites and rooms for you to choose from when planning your Pennsylvania vacation

The original owner, David Carr, built the house of stone and through the years it has been overlayed with stucco. Once owned by Thomas Hargrave, the property, known to many as the “Hargrave House”, was used as a marble/stone yard and some of the original stonework still remains.

In 2006, the 1814 House Inn & Tea Room opened to offer afternoon tea to our guests as well as the public.  The gift shoppe was added so that customers may take home some of the tea and accoutrements we enjoy at the 1814 House Inn daily.

Within walking distance are a variety of interesting Bucks County attractions including the Michener Museum, Mercer Museum, Moravian Tile Works, restored County Theatre and transportation to and from Philadelphia and New York. Enjoy the quaint shops and restaurants in town, go antiquing in the area, visit one of the many wine vineyards or shop at Rice’s Flea Market.

Come and see why Doylestown was selected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of America's " Dozen Distinctive Destination's."
